Intellectual Property

Protecting our position as the world-wide leader in the design and use of custom homing endonucleases and our proprietary DNE™ technology is of great importance to Precision BioSciences.  We aggressively seek patent protection for our proprietary technology, and protect many other aspects of our technology as trade secrets.  We also actively seek strategic licensing opportunities and alliances as they fit with our business objectives.

While a large portion of our intellectual property has been developed in-house, we also have rights to certain aspects of the DNE™ technology through an exclusive, world-wide license with Duke University covering all related patent applications and materials generated at Duke.  In addition, Precision holds several pre-arranged license options with other institutions and collaborators.
