About Us

Precision BioSciences, Inc. is a biotechnology company focused on developing and commercializing therapeutics and services based on its ability to enable site-specific genome modifications within a living organism. This technology, called the Directed Nuclease Editor (DNE), is a fully rational, proprietary design process that allows us to insert, remove, or modify DNA at nearly any gene in nearly any organism.

Precision is harnessing its DNE technology to enable the development of treatments for genetic and viral diseases, the creation of greatly needed new crops and fuel sources, and the construction of new tools for biomanufacturing and diagnostic applications. Precision has already successfully formed partnerships with several of the world's leading biotechnology companies, including DuPont and Bayer, and has built a highly dedicated and motivated team of scientists and business experts that are propelling the company and its DNE technology forward.

Precision BioSciences was founded in 2006 and is based in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. Patents underlying aspects of Precision's DNE technology were exclusively licensed from Duke University.
